Three Years of T&K

Hey guys!

Well, it's Monday again. This weekend went by so quickly, but I'm proud to say that we finished everything on our to-do list plus some. That's always a good feeling.

Today is a great day. Know why? Because it's our three year anniversary! 

I know some of you are probably like "wait, didn't you get married in May?" Why, yes, we did. However, we started dating on this day three years ago. I don't really understand why wedding anniversaries are the only one recognized, so I decided that for us, they won't be. We want to remember THIS anniversary so much, we actually had the date (11.14.08) engraved on our wedding bands.

So, in honor of three years together, I want to tell 'our story' & recap the last three years.

Thomas and I met through mutual friends in August 2008. I was fresh out of high school, and he had just moved home from San Marcos where he spent his first year of college. At first, we had no romantic interest in each other whatsoever...probably because I was dating his best friend (at the time).

After things ended for said friend and I in a less than amicable way, Thomas and I started spending time together, mostly in the form of him 'picking up the pieces.' (I joke that he had intentions of dating me all along, but he claims that it started innocently). Either way, in November of 2008 Thomas was getting ready to leave to see a band (Lydia) in concert in Austin. He was also going to stop through San Marcos to stay with friends. Being the Lydia fan I was/am, I invited myself along. I had never traveled without my parents that far away before and I jumped at the chance for an adventure.

At 4:27 while driving on the Devil's Backbone (right outside of Blanco, Texas), Thomas asked me to be his girlfriend. I agreed, and we've been together ever since. At first, things were painfully awkward. We quickly progressed to meeting each others' families (I actually met his whole family that Thanksgiving--think My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and hanging out all the time. Three years ago, I would have never imaged I'd be married and living in Atlanta with Thomas Jack and Charlotte, but I couldn't be happier with our life or our little family. I love you boo, and I couldn't ask for a better husband. (HUSBAND! Still so fun to say).
